Whistle Bear Wedding | Cambridge Wedding Photographer || A+A

Alison and Alex’s wedding at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario was one of those days that just felt easy in the best way. Lots of meaningful moments, lots of laughter, and a day that felt really true to who they are.

The morning started in the bridal suite at Whistle Bear, where Alison spent some quiet time getting ready with her mom. One of my favourite moments was actually before the dress — the two of them hanging out in pyjamas and just enjoying the calm before the day really started. When it came time to get dressed, her mom helped her into the gown, just the two of them in the room.

Not long after, Alison shared a first look with her dad, which was a really special moment. Alison and her dad are both police officers, and later he walked her down the aisle in his dress uniform — something that clearly meant a lot to both of them. Before the ceremony, Alison and Alex chose to do a first look on the terrace at Whistle Bear. When Alex turned around and saw her, the smile on his face said everything. They took a few minutes together before we wandered around the grounds for some relaxed portraits.

Their wedding party joined shortly after, and then we gathered family for photos before the ceremony so everyone could relax afterwards.

The ceremony at Whistle Bear was officiated by a family friend, which made it feel really personal. One moment Alison was especially excited about was signing their marriage license, witnessed by close family friends.

Right around sunset we stepped back outside for one of the moments they were most excited about — their champagne tower at golden hour. With the sun dropping behind them, they poured the champagne while guests cheered nearby. Such a fun moment!!

Dinner followed with speeches throughout the evening, and then Alison and Alex shared their first dance, along with their parent dances early in the night so the party could get started. And once the dance floor opened, it filled up fast! These two know how to have fun :)

One of my favourite things about Alison and Alex is how simple their story really is. They actually met through triathlon training after Alex’s dad suggested they swim together. Most of the time they’re happy just being homebodies — going to the gym, watching movies, and walking their puppy. And honestly, their wedding day reflected that perfectly. Just a really GOOD day celebrating the start of their life together.
