Mandy and Seth’s love story began during their undergraduate degrees, where a tutoring program paired them together in an exercise physiology class. Spending time studying quickly turned into something more! Not long after, the two began dating — and they’ve been building a life together ever since.
Seth proposed at their Waterloo home, just hours before the two left for a ski trip. Mandy described the proposal as thoughtful, romantic, and exactly what she had hoped for.
After nine years together, marriage felt like a natural next step — a meaningful commitment and a celebration of the life they had already built. With Seth finishing his PhD and an upcoming move to Kelowna, BC, Mandy and Seth chose to get married in Kitchener-Waterloo, a place filled with memories, close friendships, and deep significance for them both after building a life together over the past six years.
Their wedding at Elle by Stella was intentionally low-key and heartfelt. The day included a private first look, where Mandy and Seth read their vows to one another before the ceremony. Their dog, Lucy, made a brief appearance for photos, and following the ceremony, guests joined them for a celebratory champagne toast and group photo.
The ceremony itself was simple and meaningful — led by their officiant, accompanied by live music performed by Mandy’s cousin, and centred around personal vows. Family and wedding party photos took place before the ceremony, allowing Mandy and Seth to enjoy much of their cocktail hour with guests afterward.
What stood out most was the sense of togetherness. Surrounded by the people who had supported them through every season, Mandy and Seth celebrated not just their wedding day, but nearly a decade of partnership — marking the end of one chapter in Kitchener-Waterloo and the beginning of a new one on the west coast.
