After twelve years together, Sandra and Ryan finally made it official with an intimate city hall elopement in Uptown Waterloo.
When Sandra first reached out, she shared that they had been talking about marriage for years and were planning a simple celebration now, followed by a larger gathering with family and friends later. As self-proclaimed "dorks" who don't love being in front of the camera, their biggest hope was finding a photographer who could help them feel comfortable and capture the day naturally. Thankfully, that's exactly the kind of wedding day I love documenting.
Their ceremony at Waterloo City Hall was simple, meaningful, and focused entirely on what mattered most: the two of them. After more than a decade of building a life together, there was something incredibly special about watching them exchange vows and officially begin this next chapter.
Following the ceremony, we spent some time exploring Uptown Waterloo together for portraits. One of my favourite things about elopements is the relaxed pace. Without a strict timeline or large guest list, Sandra and Ryan were able to simply enjoy being together, laugh through the awkward moments, and soak in the excitement of being newly married.
To celebrate, they brought their witnesses to Loloan Lobby Bar in Waterloo. The afternoon was filled with champagne, conversation, and the kind of easy joy that comes from sharing good news with people who love you. It felt less like a formal wedding day and more like a genuine reflection of who Sandra and Ryan are as a couple.
Their elopement was a beautiful reminder that weddings don't need to be elaborate to be meaningful. Sometimes all you need is your favourite person, a simple ceremony, and a few loved ones to celebrate alongside you!
